FoodWorks® NPC Plus offers a simple and low-cost way to produce nutrition information panels that comply with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. FoodWorks NPC Plus is a streamlined version of our premium product, FoodWorks Nutrition Labelling Edition. FoodWorks NPC Plus offers many advantages over the FSANZ web-based Nutrition Panel Calculator (NPC): • No internet connection required • Save recipe formulations to your FoodWorks database • Add raw materials and sub-recipes • Nest sub-recipes to as many levels as required • NIPs are automatically updated as you make changes to raw materials and recipe formulations over time • Print your NIPs directly to most label printers or open them in Microsoft Word • Use FoodWorks to check your existing NIPs for inconsistencies—you might be surprised what you find To produce NIPs, you enter your recipes into FoodWorks, using the reference foods supplied with FoodWorks as your ingredients. If you can not find the ingredients you need in the supplied data, you can add them into FoodWorks yourself. You can save your recipe and ingredient data as you go, and when you make changes, your NIPs are automatically updated. Once you have entered a recipe, with a click of a button FoodWorks generates a label including: • The product name • Servings per pack • Serving weight • A nutrition information panel containing the mandatory nutrients FoodWorks NPC Plus automatically rounds nutrient values and show the prescribed number of significant figures. You can then refine the label to suit your particular requirements. You can choose to:
• Show values per 100g or per 100mL for beverages • Show ‘less than’ for small nutrient values where applicable • Show Calories as well as kJ for energy • Set the font, capitalisation and use of gridlines You have the following options for publishing your labels using FoodWorks NPC Plus:
• Print each label directly to any printer supplied with a Windows printer driver • With a single click open a label in Microsoft Word, and print via Word Brochure (PDF*) Introductory guide (PDF*)
